Nason & Moretti

Nason & Moretti started in 1923 in Murano. In the '50s the business worked in national and international fields. It won the award "Compasso d'oro" in 1955 released by Italian Industrial Design Association. The award was assigned for the "Lidia" cups realized with the new inversely engraved glass technique.

This means that the interior surface was coloured, but the outside one was white milk. From this point, Nason and Moretti maintained his standard of innovative research in respect of the tradition. The high quality of the product allowed the collaboration with important international brands like Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Hermes, Tiffany & Co. and Harry’s Bar. Mason and Moretti displayed their products at the Triennale and at the Furniture expo of Milan, as well as the Maison & Object fair of Paris, the Frankfurt Messe, the Museum of Modern art of New York (MOMA) and at the Kunstmuseum in Dusseldorf.

"In these first hundred years, many were our blows and breaths, just one pzassion, the same as our fathers’: it was always heated with the fire of the glass pots and it expresses itself in the elegance and in the fragility of the Venetian glass, thanks to the calling for the research and the sperimentation in step with our time”, Umberto Nason.
